Cabbiness Engineering was selected by the City of Ponca City Water and Wastewater Utilities Department for the replacement of an 8” water line from Hartford Avenue to Liberty Avenue on Union Street in Ponca City.
This replacement was highly recommended since the existing main required frequent repairs in order to provide continuous water service to the area.
The construction was along the east side of Union Street and consisted of approximately 3,000 L.F. of water line. The initial tie-in needed to be relocated for the interference of a 4” gas line. Off set 10 feet west from the design, the water line was quickly redirected to the proposed alignment on the east side of the street. Additionally, the use of numerous 45 degree fittings for the water line was required to avoid historic trees, gas lines, and other various existing utilities that could not be disturbed.
The project scope included 13 wet connections for the replacement of this water line to tie-in with the existing, intersecting water lines
