10-Foot Sidewalks
The City of Edmond contracted with Cabbiness Engineering and its design team for the widening and reconstruction of Danforth Road & Thomas Drive. Included in these projects were improved roadways, sidewalks, and drainage improvements with the focus of improving the safety of the travelling public within Edmond.
Danforth: Provided design services for the widening and reconstruction of Danforth Road to a PC Concrete, five lane, curbed roadway with intersection improvements. Sidewalks were also incorporated into the roadway design to accommodate pedestrians, with the added request of a 10’’ wide sidewalk on the north side of Danforth Road adjacent to Edmond North High School.
Thomas Drive: Storm water drainage had been an issue with this segment. So, with some pavement sections having curb and gutter and others having un-definable roadway ditches, positive drainage away from the driving lanes was needed.
