HIGHLIGHTS
10-Foot Wide Trail
ADA Compliant
The trail’s is a 10-Foot wide trail that transitions to match existing sidewalks or other trail paving sections. It connects to the planned Spring Creek Trail at the west I-35 frontage road at Spring Creek, then transverses around the east side of Fox Lake behind the Fox Lake commercial development to East 15th Street. The trail then utilizes the existing city and/or state right-of-way back to the intersection of the west I-35 frontage road and E 15th Street, but crossing from the north side of the road to the south side of the road at the signalized entrance into Wal-Mart. The trail’s final leg will connect to the existing Edmond Mercy Health Complex sidewalk along the west I-35 frontage south of 15th Street.
Other design aspects include:
-
Incorporate and/or modify existing traffic signals to accept pedestrian crossing amenities (pedestrian signals, sidewalk ramps and ADA warning devices) to make the proposed trail an integral component of the SE 15th Street intersections.
-
Incorporate all applicable sections of the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines into the trail’s design
